About this site

Construction Details

This web site is comprised of many HTML, GIF, JPEG, and plain text files. There are a few CGI scripts written in Perl to process the e-mail and search forms and to generate some repetative HTML. The site is optimized to work with any browser including lynx.

HTML and text files were created with the vi editor under Unix. Most photographs were scanned on a Macintosh and processed (gamma corrected, thumbnails created, etc.) with ImageMagick on a Sun workstation, although all new photographs, as well as icons, are done using Adobe Photoshop on a Macintosh.

This site may not be as "flashy" as other web sites with lots of dazzling graphics...but the pages sure load fast. In some aspects, this site was modeled after the Yahoo! site, one of the oldest, most used, and best informational sites there is.
