Christmas Barefoot Sighting Memory
Dec. 2021
I have a memory from many years ago as a 10 or 12 year old, shopping with my mother on a cold, foggy, wet day at Christmas time. Standing in line at a dept. store check out, suddenly there was a young man in a check out opposite ours, who was wearing nice jeans, sport shirt, nice haircut typical of the time, and bare feet. His feet were not pasty white and soft but obviously used to being bare.
I was used to going barefoot in summer and dreaded hearing “ it’s too cold to go barefoot, you’ll get sick “ and couldn’t imagine someone going barefoot all year long, and longed for that lifestyle for myself. Hard to believe, but, here I am!
